This is brooding father and carefree son before (after?) God tested Abraham's faith by ordering him to sacrifice his son, Isaac.
Only in the last minute did an angel (as God's messenger) stop the patriarch to execute the terrible deed. I tried to give a slight retro ('80s) touch to the theme (not as retro as the original story is, though...) This is part of the Old Testament Project I am developing with a friend. Interesting idea, and it's quite well realized. But I get the impression it lacks something. Not enough drama, maybe. And the setting is a bit bland.
In the end, the transposition into the nowadays world might be a bit too overdone, losing a bit of the original story. That's very personnal impression though. -- Au hasard d'une rue, une nuit Je poursuit les ombres qui s'égarent Ô grotesque songe qu'est la vie. you might have a point, but in fact I tried to spare all the "archaic" drama from it to make the whole scene into a quasi "film-like" moment... a moment shared between father and son, with the shade of a possible murder between them, and of course the ignorance thereof on the part of Isaac.
but I see what you mean, and I can also watch the image from your point of view. thanks for the critique! -- saturninus, hidden dr.agon Well, yes, I knew your purpose was that. It's just that the expression from Abraham might not be intense enough. And I would have liked to see more of their faces (the shades look cool, but they might not serve it so well).
