This is the eleventh item of the Mutually Friendly Opera Project [MFOP], a parallel assignment game with Mr =Divadlo. This is Carmen from Georges Bizet's well-known opera, the ardent gypsy girl working in a tobacco factory and causing serious heartache for a young soldier and others.
As her characteristics are very often depicted as blatant commonplaces, I decided to do the same and use only elements that are in the "classical" representation of Carmen (cigar, rose, fan, etc), putting them into a slightly surreal perspective.
Lovely dynamic shot and the sparse use of vivid colouring emphasises her vitality even more. But like one of the previous comments, the cigar feels out of place--I'm pretty sure you don't dance the Manzanilla with a cigar in your hand. Otherwise, this is a great photo!
